The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA condemns the violence and rioting currently occurring in the streets of Baltimore. The Community implores peace and justice both for the citizens of Baltimore as well as for law enforcement.

“As citizens of this great nation we are pained whenever we see injustice against our fellow citizens,” said Wasim Malik, National Vice President of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA, “and there is no doubt that the ongoing injustice against Baltimore’s African American community is inexcusable. Likewise, we condemn the rioting and ensuing violence, and instead implore patience, peace, and legal recourse to unjust acts.”

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA implores Prophet Muhammad’s example of justice and compassion in the face of injustice and violence. We ask all Americans and the government to condemn the biased treatment of African Americans in Baltimore and around the country. We encourage all Americans to work with our respective local, state, and federal governments to justly, legally, and with education, seek a path to peaceful reconciliation and understanding.

Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is a dynamic, reformist and fast-growing international movement within Islam. Founded in 1889, the Community spans more than 200 countries and territories with membership exceeding 160 million.
