Ahmadi Muslims Support the Royal British Legion
Members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association (AMA) have been volunteering across West Yorkshire to support the Royal British Legion. Many poppy collections have been scaled back this year due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, this has not stopped some Muslims from still offering their time.
Some member of the AMA were also able to attend a Remembrance Sunday memorial service in Leeds on Sunday 8th November 2020.
In Morrisons supermarket in Heckmondwike, near Dewsbury, volunteers spent several days collecting money from shoppers.
Again a few members of the AMA attended the Remembrance Sunday service in Heckmondwike.
Muslim volunteers were able to support the poppy appeal in October and November 2020, by working with schools across Derbyshire.
Both the local Councillor Johnathan Smale and the Poppy Co-ordinators were very grateful and the schools applauded the Ahmadiyya Muslim community for working through the pandemic to help raise funds for the Royal British Legion.
