A Helping Hand For Keighley’s Salvation Army

VOLUNTEERS from Keighley Ahmadiyya Muslim Association have given a helping hand to the town’s Salvation Army.

They have donated essential goods such as long-life milk, potatoes, rice pudding and baked beans for visitors to the High Street church.

Dr Haseeb Rahman, leader of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association Keighley, said members were delighted to help.

He added: “We wanted to play our part, particularly during the blessed month of Ramadan, to provide assistance to those in need.

“Our members were even more determined to help in view of the difficult events of the past year.

“Islam teaches us that the poor or needy have a right to a share of the wealth from the well-off – and Ramadan is a time for reflecting and providing for those less fortunate than us.”

Chris Bown, for Keighley Salvation Army, said: “We are really grateful for the association’s support.”
