London is playing host to the greatest sporting show on earth and it is a matter of great pride for our UK community, especially as we are one of Britain’s oldest established Muslim organisations.

Hundreds of thousands of people from all parts of the world have flocked to London to get a piece of the action at the Games. Visitors will also get a chance to experience the rich diversity that thrives in the capital, and we too will be there to extend a warm welcome to all.

Our community is an integral part of London and its cultural heritage. We built London’s first mosque (The Fazl Mosque in Putney) and also in London we built the largest mosque in Western Europe (the Baitul Futuh Mosque in Mordern) and both stand as a testament to the magnanimity of London and the UK.

Loyalty to one’s country is an integral requirement of Islam and we give our full backing to all the athletes representing our nations at the Game. Put simply, ‘Come on Team GB!’.
