Qadian, India: Ahmadiyya delegation meets PM Narendra Modi, lobbies for Qadian-Beas railway line extension

Qadian — A delegation from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of India met with the Indian Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, in New Delhi today.

The group had traveled from Qadian to seek the Prime Minister’s commitment for the Qadian-Beas railway line track extension project in Punjab.

Led by the community’s Secretary for Internal and External Affairs, Mr Mohammad Nasim Khan, the delegation included Hafiz Makhdoom Sharif, Secretary Publications; Shiraz Ahmad, Secretary Education and Syed Aziz Ahmad, Deputy Secretary for External Affairs.

Community’s Education secretary, Shiraz Ahmad, briefed the Prime Minister about the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at’s social and civic activities in India. He explained that nearly 1,300 branches of the Ahmadiyya Jamaat in India have committed to the PM’s cleanliness initiative “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” or Clean India Mission.

The delegation briefed the Prime Minister about the peace efforts undertaken by the Khalifa of Islam and the Ahmadiyya Muslim community’s worldwide leader, Hazrat (His Holiness) Mirza Masroor Ahmad.

Avinash Rai Khanna, member of Rajya Sabah was also present during the meeting.

After the meeting, Prime Minister Modi took it to the social media and announced his meeting with the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community delegation on his Facebook page.
