TEN members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Elders Association in Keighley were among more than 2,000 people from across the UK who took part in an annual charity Walk for Peace.

The event, now in its 35th year, took place on Sunday at the MK Dons Stadium in Milton Keynes.

In addition to the walk, there were stalls, exhibitions and a range of other activities.

Over 160 charities were represented.

The Keighley contingent raised £1,220.

Mujeeb Rahman, for the Keighley group, said: “It was an incredible day, and another opportunity to raise funds through the Walk for Peace for so many charities.

“One hundred per cent of all collected funds from the Walk for Peace are distributed to UK-registered charities, schools and voluntary services – not a single penny is deducted for administration costs.

“The Ahmadiyya Muslim Elders Association Keighley has worked throughout the year raising funds for charities and is committed to supporting the community.”
