Ghana: Mahama Lauds Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission of Ghana

President John Dramani Mahama has highly commended the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission of Ghana for the great role it is playing in ensuring the prevalence of Peace and tranquility in Ghana the world at large.

President Mahama made this remark when a high-powered Ahmadi Muslim delegation led by the newly appointed Ameer & Missionary -In-Charge of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Ghana, Alhaji Maulvi Noor Mohammed Bin Salih called on him to formally introduce Maulvi Bin Salih to him as the new Ameer & Missionary -In-Charge.

The occasion was also used to formally invite His Excellency the President to the official opening of the 83rd National Annual Convention of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, Ghana which will take place at the Bagh-e-Ahmad, the Mission’s farm at Pomadze near Winneba junction in the Central Region. The convention is scheduled for 8th, 9th and 10th January, 2015. The President who was full of praise described the late Ameer Dr. A. Wahab Adam as, “a very good man, pure of heart and very friendly to everyone”.

He further averred that Maulana Dr. A. Wahab Adam promoted peace and peaceful co-existence among all religions and was very liked by all the Religious leaders, Christians and Muslims alike. President Mahama expressed the conviction that the new Ameer would definitely fit into the shoes of Maulvi Dr. A. Wahab Adam and would be able to continue with the good works of the late Ameer and even move to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission to a much higher level than Maulvi A. Wahab Adam did. President Mahama described the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission as a well-disciplined Muslim religious organization which adheres faithfully to the teachings of Islam.

President Mahama was very happy to learn that the present Supreme Head of the Worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hadrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, Khalifat-ul-Masih V did serve here in Ghana, and that during his period of service here in Ghana, and in his capacity as an accomplished Agricultural expert was able to carry out a successful experiment on commercial wheat cultivation at Depali village near Tamale in Northern part of Ghana.

The President, therefore, appealed to the leadership of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission of Ghana to submit a copy of its study and successful experimental report on Wheat cultivation to him for study and possible implementation by the Ministry of Agriculture. The newly appointed Ameer, Alhaji Maulvi Noor Mohammed Bin Salih, assured the President of the Mission’s unrelenting continued role as a partner in the development of the country.
