New Year’s Day street clean by Muslim youth in Epsom

Young Muslims in Epsom have started 2024 by conducting their annual New Year’s Day street clean. Members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA) gathered at Epsom Clock Tower at 8am, ready with bin bags and litter pickers. They then tidied up Epsom Town Centre, High Street and nearby neighbourhoods. The event, which is part of a nationwide initiative, saw over 2,000 AMYA members participating in 50 locations across the UK.

The AMYA says this is part of its commitment to fostering community spirit and promoting cleanliness. The group said: “New Year’s Day offers a splendid chance to kickstart the year positively by giving back to the cherished local communities. “Our street cleaning endeavours not only enhance aesthetics but also aim to inspire community pride.”
