A MUSLIM community group in Blackburn has spoken out after the terror attack in London yesterday.

As many as 40 people were left injured when 52-year-old driver Khalid Masood mounted the curb and drove into pedestrians, with police confirming that four people had died, including policeman Keith Palmer, who was stabbed in the aftermath.

Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA) Blackburn released a statement today. It read: “The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community strongly condemns the barbaric attacks that took place in Westminster.

“Our sympathies and prayers are with the people of London and all those affected.

“Such attacks and violence against innocent people can never be justified under any circumstances.”

The Worldwide Head and Caliph of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, who resides in the UK has said: “All forms of terrorism and extremism are completely against the true teachings of Islam.

“The Holy Quran has said that to kill even one innocent person is akin to killing all of mankind.

“Thus under no circumstances can murder ever be justified and those who seek to justify their hateful acts in the name of Islam are serving only to defame it in the worst possible way.”

Meanwhile, Blackburn with Darwen Council  is flying its Union Flags at half-mast in honour of those affected by yesterday’s attacks in London.
