Biggest UK muslim convention near Alton this weekend
The largest annual Muslim convention in the UK gets underway near Alton today (August 2).
Known as Jalsa Salana, the three day event, by the Convention of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community UK, is expected to attract over 35,000 people from nearly 100 countries.
It is being held at the community’s 210-acre site at Oaklands Farm in East Worldham.
It is billed as being “An international gathering promoting Islam’s message of peace”.
The Convention’s worldwide spiritual leader, His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, will be addressing the convention on each of the three days.
